Prices/Fees

allpay doesn’t have prices listed on their website. Instead, interested parties need to reach out to them either by filling out a contact form or by calling their customer service team.

According to their company website, allpay provides a low-cost service to their clients. Regarding other costs, some information is available about using their prepaid Mastercard.

Users of allpay’s prepaid Mastercard will be able to withdraw up to £250 in cash each day. However, users cannot use this card in all circumstances. For instance, to pay at self-service petrol pumps.

When it comes to card issuance, it’s free, but there are added fees.

When travelling abroad, allpay Mastercard users will be charged additional fees while using the card. The limited allpay fee of 2.25% per transaction will be calculated and charged in addition to the Mastercard rates and expenses.

In EU countries that don’t use the euro as their currency, allpay Mastercard users will pay a fee between 1.22% and 1.59%.

Product/Service Overview

allpay offers several solutions to their clients. The leading service is Direct Debit, designed to make their clients’ lives easier by taking over their payment collections. However, they also offer Credit and Debit Cards, Cash, Prepaid, and Open Banking.

Direct Debit

allpay Direct Debit

allpay offers a flexible marked-led Direct Debit service to their clients.

Their Direct Debit service is organised around various features designed to simplify and streamline payment collections.

The platform and its secure APIs are entirely cloud-based, eliminating the need for paper-based processes.

allpay Managed Service

All Direct Debit clients are allocated their Service User Numbers at their banks, allowing their businesses’ names to be visible on all documents and correspondence with customers – even on the customer’s bank statements.

Even if a company cannot get direct sponsorship into the Bacs scheme, allpay can still offer Direct Debit Service as a Bacs-accredited Facilities Management provider.

In these cases, allpay will be held responsible for adhering to Bacs regulations by collecting and processing Bacs reports through their system. This includes bank changes, unpaid Direct Debits, and indemnity claims.

The company will also help with the payment reconciliation process via daily Payment Information Files.

Finally, they will correspond with the payer about the confirmation of setup or advanced notice.

A UK-based team runs all allpay’s Direct Debit services. allpay also provides clients setup confirmations, transactional data on collection day, and all set-up, collections, or credit rejections.

allpay Bureau Service

For businesses that are registered Service Users with Bacs, the allpay Bureau service can submit files for Direct Debit, Auddis, and Direct Debit in their clients’ names.

In addition, registered companies are also able to use their portal services to manage Direct Debit for their customers.

Although the business is responsible for following Bacs regulations as the Service User, allpay will engage in all of the activities and services mentioned in the section above: they will collect and process Bacs exception reports, unpaid Direct Debits, and bank changes, help reconcile processed, rejected, and returned items, and correspond with payers about setup confirmation or advanced notice.

Bacs Training

Many people feel like understanding Direct Debit is like delving into quantum physics. After obtaining accreditation in 2017, allpay now provides Bacs training on Understanding Paperless Direct Debits. The training is held on-site at their client’s premises.

Credit and Debit

Businesses that want to reduce their staled payments and debts and increase their income should give their customers multiple options to pay their bills. allpay has many payment options designed to improve their clients’ customers’ user experience.

Internet Payments

The allpay payment gateway offers an integrated checkout experience, simplifying the payment process for their client’s customers. In addition, the gateway is customised with the client company’s name, adding a personal touch to payment transactions and improving the customer’s payment experience.

Payments via Link

allpay Pay By Link

Clients can obtain a personalised payment link from allpay, which they can forward to their customers internally or via allpay’s Uconnect Product. The customer is redirected to a secure payment portal to pay using their credit or debit card.

Cash

allpay supplies personalised Payment Reference Cards for allpayment types. Clients’ customers can use them as identifiers and pay their bills whenever and how they want. The cards may include the client’s company logo if requested.

The following are the features of the Cash service.

PayPoint

PayPoint includes collaboration with more than 29,000 UK local shops like Tesco Express, Co-op, Spar, and more, with quick and convenient outlets. It accepts cash and debit card payments at the discretion of the retailer.

Post Office

This solution is the perfect choice for regular billpayers of rent and council taxes.

Payout

Payout service makes it easier for businesses to issue payments, refunds, or incentives to their customers at low cost and high efficiency. The payouts are cash vouchers requested by loading a CSV file with details about the funds the client wants to issue to a dedicated web portal. Then, on the next day, allpay distributes the vouchers.

Payzone

allpay is partnered with Payzone, which provides bill payment services throughout the UK to symbol groups, multiples, and independent retailers.

This service helps retailers increase customers’ visits to their stores by offering them over-the-counter payment options.

Prepaid

Prepaid is allpay’s award-winning solution. Although the product has existed since 2009, the company received the award in 2020 at the Payment Awards and Emerging Payment Awards.

The prepaid Card is a preloaded allpay Mastercard that customers can use to pay for various services and goods for the amount topped up online, on-spot, or over the phone.

This service reduces administrative costs and streamlines accounting efficiency for allpay’s clients.

Open Banking

Open Banking is a service that provides a safe way to share allpay’s client’s information across UK-based banks, given that the clients will permit them to do so.

The idea behind this feature is to increase competition and facilitate the development of new products and services that would help the customer community.

Open bak is mobile-banking-friendly, as it operates online, gives a clear view of the user’s finances, and ensures quick and direct payments.

Business Operations

allpay Business Operations

allpay is much more than a payment-collecting service. Besides having a rich palette of products and services, some even winning industry awards, the company incorporates business operations that improve their clients’ experience and maximise their service quality and efficiency.

Setting Up Direct Debit

Setting up the service is hassle-free and available for clients to use within 24 hours. Moreover, clients can complete the setup process without having to schedule payments. The service is flexible and offers either fixed or variable payment instructions.

Customer Communication

Communication with customers is automated and can be delivered via letter or email. Clients can also notify their customers of pending debits through SMS messaging. In case of a failed charge, the system will re-present the collection.

Transparency

allpay’s clients have access to past and future collections with complete data transparency. This allows clients to access their data whenever they need it.

Call Centre

Via allpay’s virtual terminal, businesses have the option to manage and accept payments through their call centre by utilising the Callpay payment management application.

This terminal also provides a call masking service and a Recurring Payment schedule. The latter allows customers to maintain control of their payment schedule while receiving automatic reminders and notifications.

Mobile App

allpay mobile app is a user-friendly, convenient way for their client’s customers to make payments. The app is available for both iOS and Android operating systems.

Phone and Text

The Telephone Payment system allows customers to make payments 24/7 via Interactive Voice Response technology.

Real-Time Notifications

Real-Time Payment Notifications update allpay’s clients in real-time about their customers’ payments.

Climate

allpay is a member of Herefordshire’s “30 for 2030” group, an initiative that is a part of the Greener Footprints campaign. This campaign represents a group of businesses that feel ready to take on leading roles in response to the climate emergency.

Company Background

allpay is one of the UK’s payment services leaders. In 2020, they won the award for their Prepaid Mastercard solution. More than 50% of local authorities and almost the entire top-class housing sector in the UK use their payment channels.

Established in 1994, this company was developed with a vision to provide payment services to the public sector. Almost 30 years later, they have achieved their dream and gone beyond.

allpay created a suite of modern payment systems that are convenient for everyone: them as the middle-man, their clients (merchants), and the end user – their clients’ customers.

Since launching its card service in 2008, allpay.cards have become one of the fastest-growing brands in the plastic card manufacturing industry, with a sterling reputation among clients of all sizes.

User reviews from all around the web

Unfortunately, user reviews of allpay are rare. On one hand, this makes it difficult to make an objective judgement of the quality of their service, but on the other hand, it means that not many users felt the need to go out of their way and share their negative experience (also holds for good experiences).
