Zebra was initially called Data Specialities Inc and began as a manufacturer of high-speed electro mechanical products. In 1982, it changed tack and concentrated on on-demand labelling and ticketing systems. The company changed its name to Zebra Technologies Corporation in 1986 and became a public company in 1991.
2014 saw Zebra acquire Motorola Solutions for $3.45 billion. This transaction expanded and strengthened Zebra’s product portfolio plus the industries it serves and the countries it works in.
