Company Background
Revel Systems was founded in 2010 by Chris Ciabarra and Lisa Falzone. Their initial plan was to supply restaurants and bars with an online ordering app. However, they soon found that the bigger problem in restaurants was their point of sale systems. They were archaic, often with high maintenance back office servers. The iPad had just been released, so Chris and Lisa decided it was the perfect touchscreen to use for their POS platform. Revel Systems is now a leading member of the Apple Enterprise Mobility Program.
Chris and Lisa went through many trials and tribulations before perfecting their POS system. The company has been nominated and won various awards since 2013. Revel Systems is now majority owned by private equity firm Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe.
