ecoPayz was founded in 2000 and was known as EcoCard until 2013. ecoPayz deals in both physical and virtual prepaid cards and offers its payment services in 173 countries in 46 currencies.
ecoPayz is owned by PSI-Pay, a company that’s based in Horsham, UK. It’s a Principal Member of Mastercard and is licensed to issue debit and prepaid payment cards, virtual card and contactless programmes. In 2009, ecoPayz were the first financial institution to launch their own iPhone app. The following year, the company’s growth encouraged them to open a 24/7 multilingual customer service solution.
In 2011, ecoPayz launched a business account which enabled businesses around the globe to pay salaries and expenses to staff and affiliates. It was in 2013 that the company rebranded, with the aim of taking it to the next level. The company was renamed ecoPayz and their suite of products were branded ecoAccount, ecoCard, ecoVirtualcard, ecoPayz Business Account and ecoPayz Merchant Account. That same year, ecoPayz launched their mobile app, giving customers the ability to transact even when on the move.
ecoPayz launched its own app in 2014, which gave customers the option of using their account 24/7 on any device. ecoPayz started an affiliate programme in 2015 and increased security via a two step verification process in 2016.
